The staff are friendly and helpful. But the train is very old and noisy. After leaving like 30+ minutes late, it took an hour to get like 10 miles from the station. Literally this whole train was waiting at traffic lights. No signal prioritization or grade separation or anything. Then we seemed to stop every 20 minutes or so for the first part of the trip to pick up or drop off people. Honestly, this train could be like 2+ hours quicker if they ran express and got prioritization at road crossings. Our room was fine. But it wasn’t entirely clean and it definitely hadn’t been updated in forever. There was no food car so you’re on your own to pack food. I’m glad it had air conditioning but we couldn’t control it in our room so we froze. Better than the alternative I guess. Plus, man was it loud and bumpy! Bring earplugs or sleep may elude you. The train was fun and nostalgic but unless they update the entire system, it’s going to remain a novelty for most people rather than a viable transportation option.

Must say that overrall, it was more than a pleasant experience. The attendant that was looking after the carriage i was in was pretty helpful as in he ensured that i was awake some half-hour before the train arrived at Chumphon(i asked him to). Only one hiccup and that it would have been better if the reading light was working.

Comfortable seats, meals are included. Only the time schule did not work out. We arrived 2.5 hours later.

Train itself was exactly what we expected however due to it setting off later than planned we missed our ferry to Koh Tao and was unable to get a refund.

I thought is was quite horrible .... Getting the tickets was easy and we even left on time . But the journey took far more time than scheduled and there was no explanation for it ! I sat in the train from Bangkok to Chumphon for more than 10 hours instead of the 8 scheduled . The trains could also use some kind of update ! Come on , it’s the 20’s but not the 1920’s ... Never again ...

Pretty easy to figure out. People where helpful. Just arrive early before hand like they suggest. It was a bit of a rush for us and we where almost late

I needed to collect my tickets out of hours, because my train left at 11pm. I telephoned the 12Go Asia office in an advance to discuss options on how to do this. They very kindly organised that a night security guard could give me my ticket. Thank you!! I was very happy with this option, otherwise i would have had to either go to the office during the day, then go back (a 2-hour round-trip), then go back again for the train, OR arrive at the station 3 hours too early for my train.
But I was very disappointed to find the train was NOT a sleeper, just normal seats, so I didnt sleep - I chose a train because I cannot sleep sitting up on buses, etc, and thought night trains had flat-bed seats :(( But I dont think that the fault of 12Go Asia, except that the tickets were then very expensive for what they were - my ticket price showed 200 baht LESS than what i paid 12Go Asia, so I wasnt happy about that....

It was a very nice experience, super profissional and we even got a very traditional Thai lunch included!! Value for money really incredible, highly recommended!!

It was a pleasant trip. The only thing is that the information screen shows a wrong arrival time. The train arrived 1 hour later then scheduled in Chumphon and you don’t know what the arrival time will be. The staff was very helpful.
Tip. Learn the people some basic English.

Overall a great experience, friendly train staff and a nice journey. We received a free snack, and then a meal - totally unexpected given the low cost of the tickets! Train carriage had AC which was great to start with, but after a while the carriage was very warm and fans were turned on. Train arrived and set off on time, but we reached our destination about 1 hour late. Would use again, but make sure to allow plenty of time to make connections!

Seats were quite comfortable, reclined there was the possibility to have a good nap. We arrived 1 hour later. Air condition was very strong, it was so cold during the all journey. The stop for having lunch was okay. Cleaning of the bus is improvable.
